Sustainable Energy Botswana (SEB) is proud to announce the successful completion of a green energy project for one of our key clients in the Diamond Park area, Pluczenik Botswana (Pty) Ltd. This project highlights our commitment to sustainable energy solutions while supporting the development of women and youth in engineering.
Three dedicated women, Masego and Nokuthula, alongside our Renewable Engineer, Tshepo, worked hand in hand with our lead Renewable Engineer as part of their training, contributing to powering the facility with clean energy. Their involvement is a testament to SEB’s ongoing mission to not only drive Botswana’s clean energy transition but also nurture the next generation of engineers.

The Pluczenik Botswana (Pty) Ltd. Diamond Manufacturing Facility is a shining example of the future of the diamond industry, where cutting-edge green diamond technology meets sustainable practices. SEB’s contribution ensures that their operations are now powered by renewable energy, reducing their carbon footprint and advancing Botswana’s leadership in green technology.
At SEB, we believe in the power of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We are particularly committed to empowering women in engineering, as well as giving young professionals the hands-on experience they need to thrive in the renewable energy sector. This project reflects our broader policy of supporting the green diamond value chain and contributing to a sustainable future for Botswana. As proud members of the UN Global Compact, we uphold its principles of gender diversity and inclusion, ensuring that our efforts drive both social equity and environmental sustainability across the industry.
We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication of our team and the transformative role they are playing in both the renewable energy and diamond industries. SEB remains dedicated to accelerating Botswana’s journey to a cleaner, greener future, where women and youth are at the forefront of the energy revolution.

Masego’s story began in Jamataka Village, where opportunities for young people to pursue advanced education and careers in technical fields were limited. Despite the challenges, Masego’s determination and passion for renewable energy set her on a path toward a brighter future. She became an active participant in the job training program facilitated by SEB and DLA, which was made possible through the generous support of the US Embassy Ambassador’s Self Help Fund. This initiative, aimed at empowering the Jamataka Multipurpose Cooperative Society, provided Masego with the foundational skills and knowledge she needed to pursue her dreams.
Her recent work was joining our project at a Diamond Facility. This project provided her with hands-on experience, allowing her to apply the theoretical knowledge she has gained in a real-world setting. Working alongside seasoned professionals, Masego had the opportunity to further develop her technical skills, gain invaluable practical experience, and build a strong foundation for a successful career in the renewable energy industry.
